Rupert Bear is the very first really famous bear since he made his debut in the Express and appearing in his very own annuals since 1936.

Rupert Bear was traditionally illustrated with a brown face on the cover of his famous annuals, ever since the 1930s. However, this tradition was broken in 1973 when the brown face illustration was amended by the publisher to a white-faced bear. Only a tiny number of the 1973 annual were printed with the brown face as the illustrator intended. This edition has gone on to be the most treasured prize, highly sought after by Rupert's loyal collectors.

As a tribute to this very special book, and following on from the white Rupert released earlier, Steiff now proudly present a brown Rupert Bear!!

He is made using the finest alpaca and stands 28cm tall. Rupert wears a gold-plated Button in Ear as a symbol of his high quality and attention to detail.
